I bought the HD-DVD player at a reasonable $ 30 Sanyo DVD player to replace a malfunctioning door after a few years. I dont have an HD TV. . . . I have an old TV. . . . but thought I was too intelligent to buy an HD DVD player, so that in a few years ago, when I have an HD TV, I would have the HD player. . . . . did not count on the fact that a comparatively expensive HD DVD player such as this Toshiba. . . it doesn't have a way for me is to connect to a TV with only a VHF / UHF / CATV port. Well, I should either spend $ 20 to come back to it, or $ 20 to buy an RF modulator and a tri-connector. When I Toshiba, they nicely told me that everything I needed to purchase a RF modulator and the connector was. . . . I have them at the time why my cheap $ 30 Sanyo DVD player has this ability to ask, but not the more expensive Toshiba. Angry. Typical electronics nightmare.

Recently, I have the product was purchased from Amazon. The picture is super! What no one tells you this machine is not "stop resume play" by one. If you are the one always comes back to the beginning. With the HD-A3, if the stop button is hit, the DVD will stop completely. When you start playing at the same site resumed, there is a pause button that only do this, you're unable to press the stop button and resume playback from the same place. Toshiba says: "This machine does not have this function not buy"! A star cause the picture is beautiful.

This device did not work out of the box using a component output. After an hour on the phone with a Toshiba representative uninformed they gave me nothing but running around as an RA and I never returned to an apparently defective unit. If you are not using an HDMI connection, you could very well tough luck, because they only let you return defective equipment, if you try with both compounds. Last Toshiba product I ever buy.

Just now I'm in my new purchasedToshiba A3 HDDVD player to Amazon after about 5 days. Machine had old firmware, and the procedure for updating is so crazy for the best. Machine skipped by casino that came with it, incidentally, and customer has to call me another number to get another disk, because it wasn't the fault of the players. Then I was told I would have in the old hard drive as an exchange-mail. What a pain! Set in "300", also with the machine. The machine would not eject. Called customer support, I was told that there is no way it would have out, so I put in the service. So it took about 5 days does not deplete. Thats when I handed it right back to Amazon for a refund. In addition, machine wore an extremely long time to get on or off, ejecting disks and load disks. Every time I turned on is if I had to upgrade to the clock. All in all, a pretty horrible experience.
